Founder, Small Business Abundance

“It is great to be able to work in and bring clients into a professional and modern office building. I also like being able to associate with other motivated people who are making things happen.”

1. What is your current occupation?
I run a consulting company that helps small business owners grow revenue and increase profit. We accomplish this through strategic analysis and planning, designing and implementing marketing programs and lead generation systems, as well as improving internal sales processes and providing sales training.

2. What do you love most about your job & why?
I love that I am able to help small business owners escape the grind and really begin to realize success in their businesses, both in terms of surpassing financial goals and by reducing their stress and workload. It is really satisfying to be in a position that the only way that I can succeed is by helping others improve their own situation. My favorite part of my job is getting an email or a call from a client letting me know how something that we implemented is having a huge impact on their business.

3. What has changed in your industry in the past five years?
I would say the biggest change is how much social media is being leaned on as the end all be all of marketing in small business. It is a tool in the tool box and a low cost option for branding but there are still other channels that are arguably more personal and more effective at directly creating revenue. As long as you can match the right market with the right message consistently, you can be successful no matter what the latest trend is.

4. How has CapeSpace improved your work life?
CapeSpace is fantastic. For one, it is the nicest office space on Cape Cod. It is great to be able to work in and bring clients into a professional and modern office building. I also like being able to associate with other motivated people who are making things happen. There is a growing sense of community there and I think it attracts people. Also Anna and Robbin are great.

5. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I have two kids under 5 so they take a lot of my “free time”, but they are a blast. Beyond that I like to play tennis a couple of times per week and I hope to get out on the water a bit this season.

6. What is your favorite place on Cape Cod?
I am pretty partial to Falmouth where I am lucky enough to live. The downtown is great and there are a ton of recreational options there as well. It is also close enough to Boston that I can get up to the city for a change of pace.

7. What is your superpower?
I don’t know if it is a superpower but I have been very fortunate to have worked in business development and sales for over 15 years and I feel that I have a great ability to cut through the noise and look at a business to see what they need to do be more successful and maximize their impact. So many business owners wear so many hats that they don’t have time or sometimes the expertise to recognize the small tweaks or opportunities that can be almost hidden in plain sight. I have been able to realize them and build systems to maximize income coming into a business.
